This is me at the top of a Munro with Mia and her daughter Jess. (Yes, several years ago we had complete bedlam in our kitchen when Jess and her sister and three brothers appeared...).
When I'm not out with the dogs, I love catching up with friends over a coffee and home baking (often my own) and trying to tame the garden. I love it when I read that it's best to leave it to "rewild"!
I am so proud of my four grown up children - two beautiful daughters who are embracing life with an enthusiasm and energy that makes me wistful, and two sons who tower over me - the youngest is a full foot bigger than me!
I spent a lot of my younger years living abroad and down south. I eventually got tired of not being able to see hills in the distance, and never being able to get anywhere without the noise of traffic and planes, so decided to move back up to Scotland. I met my husband shortly after and we got married and our children were born in quick succession which meant the oldest was only five when the youngest was born. Funnily enough, the early years are a bit of a blur!
I set up a career coaching practice some twelve years ago now and have worked with hundreds of people to help them plan and embark on a new, more fulfilling career. I've also worked a lot in organisations helping develop senior management teams.
I decided to take my own advice to try a new direction, hence becoming a humanist celebrant. The values of humanism chime with me, the belief that we have this one life and we have a responsibility to ourselves, our fellow living beings and the earth, to live that life as best we can - to be loving and respectful, tolerant and kind. I just love meeting and getting to know families and couples to help them plan the ceremony they want.
